Police and fire fighters are investigating a building collapse in Northeast Philadelphia and trying to determine whether it might be related to a rumored tornado in the area.

At 1:53 p.m. the fire department received a report of a collapse of a large section of roof at a car repair shop at 9909 Northeast Avenue near Bustleton Ave. and Red Lion Rd.

"We don't know if it's related to a tornado," a fire department spokesman said.

L&I, PGW, and PECO were alerted and have sent emergency crews and have sent emergency crews. The Red Cross was reportedly assisting three men and a woman at the scene.

The fire department declared under control at 2:09 p.m.
