Rabbi Philip Warmflash, executive director of the Jewish Outreach Partnership in Philadelphia, is one of three Jewish educators nationwide selected to receive a Covenant Award in recognition of their original and effective educational achievements.
Warmflash was honored for creating community programs that help draw unaffiliated families to synagogues to "realize his vision of a revitalized American Jewish life with the synagogue at its center," the announcement said.
The annual awards provide a $25,000 prize for recipients and $5,000 for their institutions.
The honors will be presented at the Covenant Foundation's annual awards dinner Nov. 11 in Nashville as part of the United Jewish Communities' general assembly.
