SHANKSVILLE, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Conservation Fund will pay $130,000 to add 217 acres to a state game land that serves as a buffer near the Flight 93 Memorial crash site in southwestern Pennsylvania.
The agencies are buying the land from Berwind Natural Resources Group. The purchase means State Game Land 93 now has 575 acres, preventing development close to the memorial site of United Airlines Flight 93.
The memorial is scheduled to open on the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. - AP
