Victims are identified in Ludlow murder-suicide

Police yesterday identified the man who killed his wife and then turned a gun on himself early Saturday at a bar in the Ludlow section of Philadelphia.

Jose Rodriguez, 55, of the 2300 block of North Third Street, shot his wife, Lillian Rodriguez, 56, before putting a bullet in his own head, said Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman. The murder-suicide took place about 2:15 a.m. in Sammy's Bar, 1400 N. 5th St.

Police said it was unclear what triggered the violence.
