Brittany Ellis calls it “a little oasis in the city.”

She and her husband were renting three blocks away when they decided they wanted to own, but they didn’t even think about leaving the Washington Square West neighborhood they loved.

So in May 2017 they bought the two-bedroom, one-bathroom unit in the Washington Mews Condominium development.

“We’re city people,” said Ellis, a chemical and materials engineer by trade but currently a stay-at-home mom for their baby daughter. Recently, the couple moved to North Carolina for professional reasons.

Ellis said the condo provided seclusion when they wanted and everything else when needed: stores, transportation, restaurants, touring Broadway shows.

“It’s a very walkable area,” she added, close to both rivers.

Entrance to the unit is through a secure Lombard Street gate to a courtyard with lush foliage and a brick walkway.

The home’s patio is made private by side walls and a shade tree.

The front living room has wide-plank hardwood flooring and a brick hearth fireplace.

There is space for a dining room table, and the tiled kitchen has a five-burner gas range and built-in microwave.

A closet off the kitchen has a washer and dryer.

There is also storage space on the first floor: A coat closet in the entryway, a large storage closet under the stairwell, and additional storage between the dining area and the kitchen.

The primary bedroom upstairs has views of Seger Dog Park, and there are numerous other green spaces nearby.

A second bedroom has loft-style accommodations and is suitable for an office.

The tiled hallway bathroom has a tub/shower enclosure and pedestal sink.

The condo development is pet-friendly and also allows owners to rent out their units.

The unit is in the McCall School catchment area.

Total square footage is 1,084.

It is listed by Evan Frisina of Compass Realty for $370,000.
