LeBron James graces the cover of SLAM Magazine in new threads
This will be the 30th time the 22-time All-Star has been featured on the cover of SLAM Magazine

Over two decades ago, LeBron James graced the cover of SLAM Magazine for the very first time. The high schooler shared the SLAM 62 cover with fellow star Sebastian Telfair in 2002 with the words “the takeover” decorating the front.
Twenty-three seasons later, the King is reintroducing himself.
James will make his 30th cover appearance for SLAM Magazine in the latest December/January issue — and this time, he’s rocking some new threads. The 41-year-old stands out in his No. 23 Sixers jersey on the cover of SLAM 265 with the words “Allow me to reintroduce myself,” written underneath him.
That quote is a nod to Jay-Z’s “Public Service Announcement,” a song off his Black Album, which was released in 2003, the same year James was drafted.
The Sixers signed James to a two-year, $8 million contract this past offseason. The signing may have been the biggest surprise compared to other teams in the running — like his former teams, the Miami Heat and his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.
There are four covers fans can choose from — an original issue ($13.99), an orange metal edition ($65), a gold metal edition ($125), and a platinum metal edition that 24 fans will be surprised with if they order an orange metal edition.

The orange metal edition is only available to preorder for 48 hours. The window is open until Wednesday at 11 a.m. The gold metal editions, limited to only 94 copies, already are sold out. The original cover is still available for preorder, and it will begin to ship Nov. 24.
The upcoming SLAM cover with the Sixers now makes it the fifth different team James has been featured with on the cover.
He was on the cover during his St. Vincent-St. Mary days, when he was on the Cavaliers, the Heat, and the Los Angeles Lakers. It would be the seventh team if you include his Space Jam cover (SLAM 233) and the cover of him with a New York Knicks jersey on (SLAM 140).
