Tree worker killed by falling tree in Delco
Gilberto Sinecio Feregrino was working on the 300 block of Earles Lane just before 11 a.m. in Newtown Township when a tree he was not working on fell on him, police said.
A 43-year-old West Chester man working for a tree service company was killed Tuesday when a tree fell on him in Delaware County, police said.
Gilberto Sinecio Feregrino was working on the 300 block of Earles Lane just before 11 a.m. in Newtown Township when a tree he was not working on fell on him, said Christopher Lunn, the township’s police chief.
“The tree that fell on the employee was unrelated to the work being done by the tree company,” Lunn said.
Feregrino reportedly worked for Flynn Tree Services, but a representative of the business could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.
The accident occurred less than a day after powerful storms swept through the region, but it was not immediately clear if the rain or winds caused the tree to fall over.
