Neil Patrick Harris yells, curses at a fan

Neil Patrick Harris is really getting into character with his role in the Broadway production 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch.'

Harris plays a transgender East German punk and during his performance a fan interrupted yelling, "I love you, Neil!"

In appropriate punk fashion, Harris spat back, "I'm doing something up here, motherf----r!"

The crowd responded with boisterous applause and the show, as they say, went on.

'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' tells the story of a transgender woman with a less than ideal sex change. The woman, played by Harris, is a rocker who is touring the country overshadowed by her ex-boyfriend, a more successful musical star.
