Where ABC is losing a seasoned anchor, Yahoo News is gaining one. After just two seasons, Katie Couric's talk show, Katie, has been canceled, the veteran reporter heading over to Yahoo News for the Global Anchor spot in 2014.

The Katie run will conclude officially in June 2014, with Couric making a quick transition over to her position at Yahoo News. The split reportedly was amicable, with Couric and Disney releasing a join statement to address the show's cancellation:

"We're very proud of everyone's contributions to making Katie the #1 new syndicated talk show of 2012-2013," Disney and Couric both said in a statement (via THR). "And we look forward to the rest of the season."

However, news that Couric would be moving over to Yahoo News is nothing new. Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, in fact, announced Couric's position back in November via Tumblr, saying that the anchor will "lead a growing team of correspondents" who will "cover the world's most interesting stories and newsmakers."

And so the new media takeover continues. Welcome to the internet, Katie. Maybe ABC will join you one day.
