Notre Dame's McGurk scores 1,000th point and game winner

[/BYCREDIT]Megan McGurk’s 1000th career point tied the score and her next two won the game as Notre Dame edged Spring-Ford, 58-56, at the Blue Chip Tip-Off at Archbishop Carroll.
The senior point guard reached the milestone on a  layup with 34 seconds left to tie the score at 56. With 2.9 seconds left, McGurk sank a pair of free throws to clinch the win.
McGurk finished with a school-record 33 points and she is the 10th Notre Dame player to reach 1,000 points. Bound for Bucknell, McGurk added six steals, five assists and six rebounds. She knocked down on three pointer and shot 9-for-15 from the foul line and 14-for-14 from the field.
Senior Kathleen Fitzpatrick chipped in with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The St. Joseph’s-bound guard nailed five threes and dished out six assists.
Sammy Stipa, a junior guard, scored 10 points for Spring-Ford.
