Three male teenagers are in custody after shots were fired at police overnight.

The incident happened about 1:30 a.m. near the Roosevelt Boulevard and Front Street in Feltonville.

The three were in a vehicle being pursued by police as suspects in an earlier robbery, according to police radio reports. The victim in that crime had been robbed of a wallet and other items.

The group then jumped out of the vehicle and fled into a nearby alley on foot.

One suspect opened fire on the officers, who were in uniform and had been driving a marked police car, Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters.

No one was injured. Police did not return fire.

The three teens, ages 17, 18 and 19, were quickly taken into custody and a weapon was recovered at the scene.
