Traffic is about to get a little crazy in Haverford.

On Nov. 29, PennDOT will begin a $5.2 million project to replace the structurally-deficient, 85-year-old College Avenue bridge over SEPTA railroad tracks and adjacent culvert over Cobbs Creek.

It will take a year to complete the work at the intersection of College Avenue and Haverford Road. At the same time, a left turn lane on College Ave will be added.

Motorists will need to follow Cooperstown Rd., Ardmore Ave. and Haverford Ave. to detour around the bridge closure.
