Body pulled from river at Schuylkill Banks

Authorities are investigating after a man's decomposed body was pulled from the Schuylkill near Center City.

The body was pulled from the Schuylkill at Locust Street on Monday morning, Philadelphia police said.

Medics pronounced the man dead at the scene. Other details about the victim, including his age and race, weren't known.

Police described the body as "severely decomposed" and said a medical examiner would determine how and when he died.

It wasn't immediately known whether foul play was suspected.
