Cyclist found dead on S. Jersey road in suspected hit-run
A bicyclist was found dead Friday afternoon on County Route 532 in Tabernacle, Burlington County, in what appears to have been a hit-and-run by a vehicle, the New Jersey State Police said.
About 3:20 p.m., a State Police trooper responding to another call came upon the cyclist near mile marker 10 on eastbound Route 532, or Chatsworth Road, Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams said.
The man, who appeared to be in his 60s, was already dead when the trooper found him. No vehicle remained on the scene, Williams said.
The victim has not yet been identified and the fatality remains under investigation, Williams said.
County Route 532 was shut down between Russ Anderson and White Horse Roads during the investigation, police said.
