Dense fog is blanketing the Philadelphia region Wednesday morning.

A National Weather Service dense fog advisory for eastern Pennsylvania, most of New Jersey and Delaware is in place through 11 a.m.

The weather service said motorists should expect visibility of less than one-quarter mile in places.

The fog was also causing problems at Philadelphia International Airport. Flights to Philadelphia were temporarily halted and travelers should be prepared for delays, the airport said.

Foggy conditions could persist into early afternoon. More rain is also expected starting later Wednesday morning.
