Kacie McDonnell joins New England sports channel

TV personality Kacie McDonnell is on her way back to the East Coast -- but not to Philadelphia.

The Pottsville, Pa., native will join the New England Sports Network (NESN) in September as an anchor and reporter on its three main sports programs, the network announced Monday.

McDonnell, a Villanova University graduate, started her television career as a traffic reporter for FOX29. She later served as an Eagles pregame reporter and fill-in anchor on Good Day Philadelphia.

She left Philly in 2014, following then-fiance Aaron Murray to Kansas City after he was drafted by the Chiefs. Their romance, which flourished in 2013, ended in January 2015.

In Kansas City, McDonnell worked for 41 Action News as a reporter and anchor. She also hosted pre- and postgame broadcasts for Sporting Kansas City, the city's Major League Soccer franchise.

While in Kansas City, though, McDonnell continued to show her support for Philly, and especially for her alma mater.
