A Pennsylvania Target store will turn off the music, lower the bright lights, and keep the hustle and bustle to a minimum as part of a special event for those with autism.

It is like the quiet car version of shopping.

The event will be held Saturday from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the store on 2385 Covered Bridge Drive, off Route 30, in Lancaster.

Angie Thompson, a Target representative, told GoodHousekeeping.com there were no immediate plans to roll out these events company-wide. Thompson said those who want similar events should contact their local store.

"At Target, we are committed to creating an environment where our team members and guests feel welcome, valued and respected," she said.

Target representatives in Lancaster referred all calls to a Minnesota office, which referred all calls back to the Lancaster store.

The "Sensory Friendly Film" program is available on the second and fourth Saturday for family-friendly fare and Tuesday evenings for mature audiences.
