The first mayoral debate of the 2015 general election is being held this evening at 7 p.m. Five candidates will take the stage: Democrat Jim Kenney, Republican Melissa Murray Bailey, Socialist Osborne Hart, and Independents Jim Foster and Boris Kindij.

The Next Mayor project is pulling in tweets from reporters, photographers, and freelancers with the Inquirer, Daily News, and who are at the debate inside the DoubleTree Hotel on South Broad Street. This first of five debates is being sponsored by United Way of Greater Philadelphia and the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia. The Next Mayor project is hosting another debate Oct. 19.
