The FBI is seeking help in finding a man dubbed "The Straw Hat Bandit" who is wanted in 11 area bank robberies.

Between June 2012 and July of this year, the man has been captured on surveillance cameras brandishing a black semi-automatic handgun as he demanded money from tellers in Montgomery and Bucks County banks, according to the FBI.

He is described as 40s or older, approximately 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and weighing over 200 pounds. He hides his face using a mask, pillowcase, or bandanna.

The bandit, who also sports a variety of hats, including a large straw hat, dark-colored bucket hat, and black baseball cap, favors suit coats over shirt and tie, hooded sweatshirts, and lightweight jackets.

The FBI believes the thief either owns or has access to a 1998 to 2007 white Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra base model pickup truck with a cap over the bed. He may also have owned or had access to a teal BMW sedan or a dark-colored Volvo sedan in older robberies.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI at 215-418-4000. Tips can remain anonymous.
