New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie didn't make the final cut as Donald Trump's vice-presidential pick, with the presumptive Republican presidential candidate announcing that he had chosen another governor, Indiana's Mike Pence.

Christie, one of the first and few establishment Republicans to endorse Trump, had been widely considered one of the finalists for the VP. And social media users – who have not been kind to the governor's role as a Trump surrogate – were quick to mock Christie getting passed over for the vice-presidential slot.
