A woman died after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street against a red light in North Philadelphia.
A woman died after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street against a red light in North Philadelphia.
The crash happened about 6 a.m. Monday at the intersection of B Street and Erie Avenue, Philadelphia police said.
A 2007 Toyota that was heading east on Erie Avenue and had a green light struck the female pedestrian, who was crossing against the red light, police said.
The 30-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was taken to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:26 a.m.
The Toyota driver, a 58-year-old man, remained at the scene and was not harmed.
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
