Soccer: Ryan's Todt stepping down after 44 years

After 44 years on the bench, longtime Archbishop Ryan boys' soccer coach George Todt is stepping down at the end of this season.

Todt has a career record of 646-161-117, which ranks him first in the state and fifth in the country.

He has won 13 Catholic League crowns: 2003, 1998, '96, '95, '92, '91, '88, '87, '86, '85, '84, '83, and '81.

Ryan, also Ryan's athletic director, missed the 2003 final, a 1-0 triumph over La Salle, due to his son's wedding in England.

His regular-season finale will be Oct. 16 against Catholic League rival Lansdale Catholic.

The Red Raiders will host a Catholic League playoff on Oct. 23, at the field behind the school.
