Triangle Club Holiday Tournament tips off Tuesday
TRIANGLE CLUB HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT
The 43rd annual Triangle Club Holiday Basketball Tournament will be held at Norristown Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Father Judge, the defending tourney champion, will take on Upper Merion in a Tuesday semifinal at 6:30 p.m. The other semifinal, at about 8 p.m., pits Hatboro-Horsham against Norristown.
The Wednesday consolation and championship games are scheduled for 6:30 and 8 p.m., respectively.
Judge is led by guard Marc Rodriguez, who has several Division II scholarship offers and is set to join the school's 1,000-point club. Also in the mix for the Crusaders are fellow senior guards Matt O'Connor and Mike Power.
Upper Merion is sparked by 6-foot 8 forward Matt Faw, a Holy Cross recruit, 6-6 forward Ethan Miller, 6-7 swingman Chris Carita, and guards Aidan Newell and Andrew Persaud.
Hatboro-Horsham is powered by 6-10 forward Clifton Moore, an Indiana recruit who is averaging 21.2 points and 9.6 rebounds, and guard Jay Davis.
Norristown switched from the Suburban One League American Conference to the Pioneer Athletic Conference this year. The rebuilding Eagles are paced by 6-3 captains Darius McGowan and Kurahn Clark.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for students.
