Temple's Anderson to play in East-West Shrine
Temple wide receiver Robby Anderson, who played his high school football in Florida, will not only be ending his Temple career in the Sunshine State, but will be playing an extra game there as well.
Anderson has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shine Game on Jan 23 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, home of the Tampa Bay Rays.
On Thursday Anderson and Temple will depart for Florida to prepare for the Dec. 22 Boca Raton Bowl against Toledo.
Anderson played at South Plantation High in Plantation, Florida, which he says is about 25 minutes from Boca Raton.
Now he will get an extra game. The East-West Shrine game will be played at 4 p.m. and televised by the NFL Network.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Anderson has 64 receptions for 873 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the Owls in all three categories.
