At the Table: A modern, elegant BYOB for Wayne

Twenty seats in a salon off Lancaster Avenue.

Well-seasoned chef-couple Alex Hardy and Tara Buzan plan a Nov. 16 launch for At the Table, their 20-seat modern American BYOB, filling the former Crêperie Béchamel space at 11 Louella Court, off Lancaster Avenue in Wayne (610-964-9700).

They're offering an a la carte menu, as well as customizable tasting menus of five courses ($65) and eight courses ($95). By "customizable": Patrons choose the protein or key ingredient for each course and tip off Hardy to allergies or aversions, and he comes up with the dishes.

Hardy is a Johnson & Wales grad whose resume includes stops at Pumpkin, Majolica, Maia, and Gilmore's. Buzan started in catering and then bought A Taste of Britain in Devon, which later moved into a larger spot at the Eagle Village Shops in Wayne. Five years ago, she changed gears and started a personal chef and off-site catering business called To the Table.

Initially, Hardy and Buzan serve dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday. Brunch will start in January.
