Chef Nick Farina turned a pizzeria into a taqueria to create Union Taco, at 712 W. Girard Ave.

He's planning to do it again.

In mid-July, he expects to open a Union Taco at 4229 Main St.

The 30-seater (plus eight outside) will operate for dine-in, takeout and delivery lunch and dinner Tuesdays through Sundays, with late night hours until 3 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Farina's menu will feature nine different 6-inch house-made soft flour or corn tortilla tacos as well as tortas (sandwiches), chorizo cheese fries, chips and queso, and made-to-order guacamole.

There will be no flatbread pizzas; the Girard Avenue location included the oven while Main Street did not.

Farina also has Verdad in Bryn Mawr and a taco truck for catering and special events.
