Will Smith recorded 'seven or eight' songs with Kanye
If you’ve turned on your TV at all this week, chances are you may have caught The Fresh Prince reliving his old emcee days on “Ellen” and “Letterman" and “Fallon.” But Will Smith isn’t just traveling around promoting his new film “Focus” whilst spitting his old jams.
If you've turned on your TV at all this week, chances are you may have caught The Fresh Prince reliving his old emcee days on "Ellen" and "Letterman" and "Fallon." But Will Smith isn't just traveling around promoting his new film "Focus" whilst spitting his old jams. He told Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday that he's also been in the studio as of late and with Kanye West, no less.
"I've recorded a lot," he said on Seacrest's radio show. "I don't have anything I like yet, but I've probably recorded around seven or eight [songs]."
Now, we know what you're thinking. 'Kanye West!? Forget him! What about DJ Jazzy Jeff?'
Well, Jeff aired the same curiosities in a slightly awkward segment on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Wednesday night. While Smith performed "Summertime" for the "Kimmel" crowd, DJ Jazzy Jeff danced onscreen behind him. Later, host Jimmy Kimmel pulled up the digital wall again. Smith believed a fan was going to pop up and ask him a question but instead DJ Jazzy Jeff appeared with a hilariously leading inquiry.
"Are there any former collaborators that you're looking to restart a relationship with?" Jeff asked.
"I was going to call you, man," Smith responded before adding, "This is awkward."
