2 men killed, 1 critical in separate shootings

More gun violence over the weekend added two more bodies to the city's staggering homicide total -now 146 - and left three others wounded, one critically.

Homicide investigators called to Christian Street near 57th in Southwest Philadelphia shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday found a 19-year-old man shot multiple times in the chest.

Khalil Thrower was pronounced dead shortly after midnight Saturday at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

He was the city's 145th homicide victim.

Less than 24 hours later, and less than a half-mile away from the scene of the 145th homicide, investigators were called to Rodman Street near 57th shortly after 10 Saturday night. There they found Stephen Shores, 36, lying on the street, shot multiple times.

Shores, homicide 146, was pronounced dead about 10:30 p.m. at HUP.

Cops said a 20-year-old man was shot multiple times shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday on Bouvier Street near York in North Philadelphia. The man was listed in critical condition at Temple University Hospital.

And two men - one on Saturday at 50th Street near Westminster Avenue, Southwest Philadelphia, the other on Sunday at Crittenden and Naragansett streets, Germantown - received gunshot wounds of the legs. They are hospitalized in stable condition *
