Police have identified the man shot to death while walking his dog in West Philadelphia as a 22-year-old resident of the neighborhood.
Hakim Zaboor was shot once in the head while he was walking his pit bull puppy on the 300 block of North Horton Street about 7:20 p.m. Monday, according to Philadelphia police.
Zaboor, who lived on the block, was found unresponsive on the sidewalk. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:34 p.m.
The motive for the shooting remained unknown Tuesday.
No arrests were made and a description of the suspect was not available.
The killing is the second time in the past week that a man walking his dog was gunned down in Philadelphia.
On Dec. 16, 34-year-old Mark Marshall was fatally shot when he got into an argument with another man as Marshall was walking his two chihuahuas on the 4600 block of Kingsessing Avenue.
