A valet was robbed outside a Penn's Landing hotel Saturday night as he tried to hail a cab for a customer.
Police said the 28-year-old valet was attempting to flag down a taxi outside the Hyatt Regency on Columbus Boulevard around 9:45 p.m., when an unknown man approached.
The man, armed with a handgun, threatened to shoot the valet if he didn't give up his money, police said.
The valet handed over his phone and wallet containing $25 in cash, along with credit cards and identification.
Police said the suspect told the valet not to look at him, then fled, running north on Columbus Boulevard.
He is described as a 5-foot-7-inch to 5-foot-10-inch tall black male, aged 25 to 30, weighing between 140 and 150 pounds. Police said he had a goatee and was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and dark gray pants.
No arrests had yet been reported Sunday afternoon.
