63 laptops stolen from Upper Darby elementary
Sixty-three Mac laptop computers were stolen from an Upper Darby elementary school last week, and police were questioning members of the cleaning staff.
A teacher at Highland Park Elementary noticed Wednesday that about a dozen computers were missing from the library, where they had been stored, Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said. An investigation revealed that 63 computers, valued at $1,000 each, had been stolen Tuesday night, Chitwood said.
No alarms were triggered, leading police to believe it was an inside job. Chitwood said his detectives were tracking down members of the cleaning staff.
Upper Darby police asked anyone with information about the thefts to call them at 610-352-7050.
