Jasmine Magliaro said that growing up in Bryn Mawr she “never knew the city that well. I didn’t know what to expect.”

So she and husband, Tom, walked the streets in the Passyunk Avenue corridor asking people what they thought of the neighborhood.

“We stopped people and they all had great things to say,” she said.

And in the five-plus years they have been living in their three-bedroom, 1 ½-bath rowhouse near Passyunk, they liked many things about it: The five-minute walk to the Broad Street subway line for trips to the sports complex, the constantly emerging new restaurants.

“It’s very safe, and our neighbors are amazing.”

But Jasmine, operations coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and Tom, a high school history teacher, are headed with their 6-year-old son to the suburbs for a driveway and a backyard and school districts they handpicked.

The South Philadelphia house has high ceilings with crown molding and hardwood floors throughout.

The kitchen has a large workspace, stainless steel appliances, room for both entertaining and cooking, and access to a private patio.

The main bathroom was recently updated, and there is a hall closet for linens and toiletries.

The three bedrooms are upstairs and one is particularly suited for an office, nursery, or walk-in closet.

The basement is partially finished, with a new washer/dryer and a powder room. It could easily be converted into a living or office space.

Total square footage is 944.

The house is listed by Brea Stover of Compass Real Estate for $329,900.
