A 25-year-old man was shot and wounded Sunday morning at a Penn’s Landing hotel, police said

Police said a physical altercation preceded the shooting. The suspected shooter also suffered injuries.

A 25-year-old man was shot and seriously wounded Sunday morning at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing, and a 25-year-old woman is in custody, police said.

When police arrived about 10:20 a.m. at the hotel in the 200 block of South Columbus Boulevard, the woman identified herself as the shooter and surrendered her weapon, police said.

The incident, which occurred inside a room on the ninth floor, evidently was preceded by a “physical altercation,” police said, adding that the alleged shooter suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Police said they were looking into reports of “domestic disputes” between the man and the woman.

Medics transported the victim, who was found on a hotel stairway not far from the room where the shooting occurred, to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where his condition has been upgraded from critical to stable.

Police did not name either the shooting victim or the suspect, nor were any charges specified.

An investigation was continuing.
