A Man found shot to death near the Quaker City Yacht Club

Homicides are down 40% compared with the same time last year.

Responding to a radio report of gunfire Sunday afternoon, Philadelphia Police found a man shot to death near the boat ramps of the Quaker City Yacht Club.

It was just before 5 p.m., when patrol officers raced to 5198 Princeton Ave., where the yacht club is located tucked away near the Delaware River waterfront.

Within minutes, paramedics pronounced the victim, whose name and age have yet to be released, dead on the scene.

Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No motive has been established, police said.

The victim became the 59th homicide in Philadelphia in 2026, a nearly 40 percent decrease in killings from the same time last year.
