The Hooters, Willie Nelson to perform at A.C.'s new outdoor event space

Philadelphia's The Hooters and Willie Nelson are among the initial bookings announced today for the outdoor event space at Atlantic City's Borgata Hotel will be operating this summer.

So far, seven shows are booked for the 4,500-seat al fresco Festival Park venue, which will be located adjacent to the Borgata complex.

The Hooters will headline the inaugural concert June 13. Support acts include another made-in-Philly act, G. Love & Special Sauce, and Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes.

Also announced are: The Killers (June 20), pop star Meghan Trainor (July 3), country legend Willie Nelson (Aug. 16) and Counting Crows (Sept. 3).

According to sources, more dates--perhaps as many as 15--will be announced in the near future.

The venue is one of two major entertainment projects slated for The Big B this year: A new nightclub is also in the works.
