HERSHEY, Pa.- The shots just wouldn't fall for the Central Bucks West girls' basketball team.
A poor shooting night did the Bucks in, as Cumberland Valley repeated as PIAA Class AAAA state champs with a 40-35 victory at Giant Center.
The Bucks were just 7 of 25 from the field in the first half, as they struggled to get going offensively. Even so, they managed to head into the locker room only down by19-17.
But the Eagles surged to start the third quarter, while the Bucks still couldn't get anything going on the offensive end.
Thirty-five points is the fewest the Bucks have scored all season. Their previous low – 51 – came in a win against Abington. The Bucks hadn't lost a game since December 27, and was the first time West lost to an in-state opponent all season long.
The District 1 champion Bucks finish the season 32-2.
