Temple is ranked No. 23 in the Associated Press Top 25 football poll, which was released today. This is the first time this season the Owls have been ranked.

Temple is 10-3 and has won seven in a row, including a 34-10 win Saturday at Navy in the American Athletic Conference championship game.

Earlier today, a source said that Temple is headed to the Military Bowl on Dec. 27 at Navy and is expected to play Wake Forest or North Carolina State.

The other team besides Temple from the AAC that is ranked is No. 25 South Florida. Temple beat the Bulls, 46-30, on Oct. 21.

Penn State, (11-2) fresh off its 38-31 win over Wisconsin in the Big 10 championship game, is No. 5.

The top four teams are No. 1 Alabama (13-0), No. 2 Ohio State (11-1), No. 3 Clemson (12-1), and Washington (12-1).
