White Dog Cafe is in the throes of change with the addition of Marty Grims as the new managing partner. Chef Andy Brown and many staffers were shown the door yesterday at the University City landmark. Ralph Fernandez, corporate executive chef for Grims' company (and a partner at Moshulu), is now overseeing the food service. Chef de cuisine Eric Yost, previously at Grims' Plantation in Long Beach Island, is running the kitchen. Fernandez said the kitchen is being gutted, re-equipped and cleaned. The restaurant could reopen as soon as Friday.

Savona, the fancy French-Italian mix in Gulph Mills, has cut its hours. It's now closed Sundays and is open for private parties only on Mondays. It's now serving Tuesdays through Saturdays for dinner only. Brunch is due to restart in May.
