Polo Cup

The second annual Chester County Hospital Polo Cup is expected to draw 500 people Sunday. The family friendly event features six high-energy seven-minute periods (or chukkers). Horses are replaced at the beginning of each chukker, ensuring that fresh ponies keep up the action as two teams of four players compete against one another to score goals. The Turks Head Branch of the Women's Auxiliary to the Chester County Hospital is sponsoring the event, which is presented by the Brandywine Polo Club in Toughkenamon. Tickets are available in advance, or at the gate. Adult tickets include admission, parking, and two adult beverages provided by Iron Hill Brewery and Chaddsford Winery. Journeys Backyard Barbecue Tour

Extreme-sports enthusiasts and alternative-music lovers of all ages will converge outside the King of Prussia mall Saturday for the Journeys Backyard Barbecue Tour. The name Backyard Barbecue comes from the idea idea of an outdoor gathering, but there will be no BBQ items for purchase. The focus of the event is music and the extreme exhibitions. The festival will begin with an audience-choice Battle of the Bands competition with performances by local bands the Great American Soundtrack, Even the Resolution, and Capital Risk. Professional X Games-winning athletes will perform freestyle motocross and skateboard tricks on a 60,000-square-foot system of ramps and jumps. Local skaters from Woodward Skatepark of Philly at Franklin Mills mall will also show off their skills.
