One dead, two injured in separate Philadelphia shootings

A 27-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday morning, becoming Philadelphia's third homicide of the new year. Police said the man was found lying on the sidewalk in the 5800 block of North Marshall Street about 3:30 a.m. Sunday with a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest.

Police said the man was found lying on the sidewalk in the 5800 block of North Marshall Street about 3:30 a.m. Sunday with a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest.

He was pronounced dead by medics. His identity was not released pending notification of family.

An investigation continues with no suspects, police said.

In the other incident, officers responding to a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of South 58th Street about 10:44 p.m. Saturday found two gunshot victims.

Both - a 15-year-old female and a 13-year-old male - had been shot in the left leg. They are in stable condition at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, police said.

An 18-year-old male was in custody. Charges had not been filed Sunday, and his name was not released.
