At new development in Kensington, you can be a pawn or a queen

There is no shortage of new construction in rapidly (re)developing Fishtown and Kensington, so we can imagine it's tough to get noticed in a crowded market. Enter Bishop Square, six new "finely curated homes" developed around an unusual theme: chess. At least the floorplans have interesting names.

Adding swag to intrigue, the Somers Team, selling all six homes, recently hosted an event offering free massages, prosecco and LiveNation tickets.  When your finishes are high-end, you can't really offer prospective buyers $7 Andre.

The units offer standard new-construction fare like tax abatements (if you have kids, you'll probably be gone before you need to worry about failing to contribute your taxes to the public schools anyway!), upstairs laundry and zoned heating. But even the pawn unit here offers goodies like a rooftop deck, a two-story light well and smart technology to control the thermostat and doorbell. We are definitely into the lovely kitchens.

The Rook unit is already sold, and the Queen is under contract. Still room for pawns, kings, bishops and knights, though.
