Audra McDonald comes to Longwood Gardens this summer

Along with Audra McDonald, Longwood Gardens' summer concert lineup includes a taping of NPR's "From the Top" hosted by pianist Christopher O'Riley, plus other jazz and classical artists.

The summer lineup at Longwood Gardens includes an appearance by vocalist Audra McDonald June 17. There's also a taping of NPR's From the Top hosted by pianist Christopher O'Riley on Sept. 9, plus other classical and jazz events.

The season opens June 1 with a wine-and-jazz event featuring vocalist Jazzmeia Horn, trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis, pianist Cyrus Chestnut, and trumpeter Terell Stafford. The next day, Longwood hosts a visit from an ensemble that includes jazz prodigy pianist Joey Alexander.

Other artists this summer include Rhiannon Giddens, the Delaware Symphony Orchestra with violinist Jennifer Koh, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
