Play auditions. Auditions for two children's roles in the Mainstage Center for the Arts summer production of Ragtime will be held today at Camden County College. Directors are looking for one boy and one girl able to portray children ages of 8 to 10 years old. The girl will play the role of a daughter of an immigrant in 1906, and the boy is the son of a well-to-do couple from New Rochelle in the same time period. No preparation needed; all materials will be supplied.

Family nature hike.
Families can experience an outdoor adventure Saturday at Palmyra Cove. Hikers, led by naturalist Kristina Merola, will explore an array of plants and animals found in the 250-acre preserve. Binoculars are recommended.
Music school open house.
Settlement Music School is having an open house Saturday at all six of its branches, including Camden. The United States' largest community school of the arts will open its doors for a day full of performances, demonstrations, giveaways, and lesson registrations. The event is designed to help families and individuals learn more about the opportunities for music and dance instruction.
Shark Realm exhibit.
Check out nine new species of sharks, along with new shark shows, interactive and exhibits at the Adventure Aquarium. This is in addition to the 550,000-gallon Shark Realm exhibit, the 40-foot suspended shark tunnel, and the Touch-a-Shark exhibit. The new species you can see are: the Smooth Dogfish shark, Zebra Bullhead shark, Epaulette shark, Chain Dogfish shark; Coral Catshark; Arabian Carpet shark; Dark Shyshark, Horn shark, and Zebra shark.
