Monopoly tournament

Children ages 10 to 16 are invited to put their budding real estate mogul skills to work at the official Monopoly tournament happening at the Atglen Library. Two preliminary rounds will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. Finalists will compete next Thursday for Wal-Mart gift cards ($25 for the winner, $15 for the runner-up). Call the library at 610-593-6848 to sign up to play (the tournament is limited to 24 players).

Water-safety class

The SPLASH Water Safety Program at the Brandywine YMCA is designed for 5- to 12-year-old non-swimmers and beginning swimmers. In an effort to keep children safe during the summer swimming season, the program provides introductory swim lessons, swimming and boating safety tips, and lessons on the YMCA's four charter values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. English country dancing

Watch from the sidelines or join in the fun as Church of the Loving Shepherd at Bournelyf presents English country dancing. There will be demonstrations, lessons and audience participation. Beginners are welcome and no partner is necessary. Participants interact with everyone on the dance floor. With very little footwork, if you can walk, you can dance. It's the perfect dance for even the youngest and oldest dancers. Call 610-692-5662.

Youth art exhibit

Historic Yellow Springs is holding an exhibition of many of the works created by young members at classes taught by professional artists during the studio's after-school sessions or the summer camp program. The young artists were encouraged to observe and experiment with colors, shape, design and materials. Bring your own little art lovers to check out these works that were created by children.
