The Philadelphia Museum of Art will be open free to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today as part of the official day of appreciation to honor the late Anne d'Harnoncourt, who led the museum for many years.

Guest books will be on display at the museum for visitors to sign and share their thoughts and memories. A complimentary audio tour titled the "Director's Delights," in which d'Harnoncourt shares her fascination with choice works in the galleries, will be available.

The public is also invited for a tribute at 6 p.m. in the museum's East Terrace for d'Harnoncourt, who died June 1. That program will feature remarks by Mayor Nutter and Gov. Rendell, and performances by the Philadelphia Boys Choir and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.

D'Harnoncourt's husband, Joseph Rishel, the senior curator of European Painting before 1900, will speak.
