Water firefighters poured on to the flames froze in the bitter cold, leading to the closure of the Delsea Drive (Route 47) during the morning rush hour.
No injuries were reported.
Tramontana said four ladder trucks and about a dozen engines were involved in the firefighting effort.
The 50-year-old bowling alley was recently remodeled, according to its Web site.
