Eagles-Seahawks: Start time, channel, how to watch and stream ‘Monday Night Football’
The Eagles would solidify their hold on the NFC East with a win, but would still need help to end up in the No. 1 seed.
The Eagles (10-3) will take on the Seattle Seahawks (6-7) tonight on Monday Night Football, and Birds fans are all asking the same question: Is Jalen Hurts playing?
The good news is Hurts is expected to play tonight after battling flu-like symptoms over the past several days, according to the Inquirer’s Jeff McLane. Hurts flew to Seattle separately to avoid getting his teammates sick.
The Eagles got a break ahead of the game — they officially clinched a playoff spot and moved into first place in the NFC East, thanks to the Dallas Cowboys’ blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills. With a win, the Eagles will increase their chances of winning the division to 85%, according to the New York Times’ playoff simulator. A loss would drop the chances to 60%.
A win would also help the Eagles keep pace with the San Francisco 49ers (11-3) in the fight for the NFC’s No. 1 playoff seed. The 49ers clinched the NFC West on Sunday with their win over the Arizona Cardinals (3-11), who have been eliminated from contention.
The Birds are playing tonight because the NFL decided to flex the game into Monday Night Football, a first in NFL history. Though the league had some second thoughts after announcing the move, ESPN was thrilled to land the game.
“I just think [the Eagles] are a great watch,” said Tim Reed, ESPN’s vice president of programming. “No matter where they’re going on the road, the Eagles are going to get the other team’s best game. … They’re great for TV, and we’re excited to get them a third time this year.”
The Seahawks have won seven straight games against the Eagles, dating back to 2005. That includes Seattle’s win over Philly in the 2019 wild-card game. Overall, the Seahawks are 12-7 against the Eagles, and the Birds are looking to end an 11-game losing streak against animal teams, according to Philly Voice.
Here’s everything you need to know to watch or stream the Eagles on Monday Night Football:
What time and channel is the Eagles game on tonight?
The Monday Night Football game between the Eagles and the Seahawks is scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN and ABC.
In the booth for their second season at ESPN (and their 22nd together calling NFL games) are Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, along with King of Prussia native Lisa Salters reporting from the sidelines at Lumen Field in Seattle.
Eagles-Seahawks will also air on the radio on WIP-FM (94.1), where fans can listen to the familiar voices of Merrill Reese and former Eagles receiver Mike Quick. WIP host Howard Eskin will handle sideline reporting duties.
The game will also air in Spanish on ESPN Deportes (Rebeca Landa, Sergio Dipp, Katia Castorena, and John Sutcliffe) and on the radio on La Mega 105.7-FM (Rickie Ricardo, Oscar Budejen, and Bill Kulik).
Where can I stream Eagles-Seahawks?
Eagles-Seahawks won’t stream on ESPN+, the network’s subscription service. But it will stream on any so-called skinny bundle that carries ABC, including fuboTV, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, and DirecTV Stream. Most offer a free trial.
You can also stream Monday Night Football on NFL+, the league’s subscription streaming service, which costs $6.99 a month.
If you’re looking to stream the game for free and you live in or around Philadelphia, your best option is using a digital antenna, since the game will air on broadcast television on 6abc.
Will there be a ‘Manningcast’ tonight?
Peyton and Eli Manning’s alternative Monday Night Football telecast, dubbed the Manningcast, is back on ESPN2 this season for the third straight year, and the brothers will be broadcasting during Eagles-Seahawks.
It’s the third Eagles game the Manning brothers have handled, and the second this season. During the Eagles’ win against the Kansas City Chiefs last month, Peyton and Eli spoke to former Birds quarterback-turned-Fox NFL analyst Michael Vick, when he admitted he played as Peyton — and not himself — in Madden football.
Hurts made it onto the Manningcast last season, when the young Eagles quarterback (wearing a hoodie with the phrase “God bless whoever hating on me”) reacted to a wild video of Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, who passionately and hilariously butchered a Hurts quote about heat and thermostats.
This is the final Manningcast of the regular season, but Peyton and Eli will be back to call one playoff game for ESPN.

Five things to read before Eagles-Seahawks
Eagles defensive coordinator Sean Desai has been stripped of his play-calling duties and replaced by senior defensive assistant Matt Patricia.
Dom DiSandro, the Eagles head of security better known as “Big Dom,” has been banned from the Birds’ sideline for the rest of the regular season following his skirmish with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw earlier this month.
Cornerback Darius Slay is out against the Seahawks following arthroscopic knee surgery. It’s unclear when Slay will be back, but the Eagles are hopeful he’ll makes a full recovery ahead of the playoffs.
As Zach Ertz makes his free agent decision, his family is giving back to Philly — and hoping for an Eagles reunion.
