Police arrest suspect after man is shot and stray bullet hits girl, 17, in Kensington
Police said both victims are in stable condition.
Philadelphia police on Sunday arrested a suspect after a man was shot in the street in Kensington and a stray bullet struck a 17-year-old girl who was sitting inside her home nearby.
Both victims were hospitalized and are in stable condition. Officials had not identified the person arrested as of Sunday evening.
Police spokesperson Crpl. Jasmine Reilly said that just after 4 p.m. on Sunday on the 2900 block of Amber Street, a 25-year-old man was shot twice in the abdomen in the street. She said it appears the the gunshots originated outside, then went into the property where the teenage girl was sitting, striking her in the back.
The girl was transported to St. Christopher’s Children’s Hospital by medics, and the male victim was treated at Episcopal Hospital and Temple Hospital.
