Dom DeLuise dies

The celebrity-tracking website TMZ is reporting that Dom DeLuise -- who starred in such classics as "The Cannonball Run" and "Blazing Saddles" -- has died.

The TMZ report says that DeLuise died in a Los Angeles hospital. "We're told he passed away peacefully in his sleep at around 6 PM," the website reported.

DeLuise was 75.

Michael DeLuise, the son of the actor and comedian, confirmed the death.  He told Los Angeles TV station KTLA and radio station KNX that his father died Monday night.

There were no further details on the cause of death.
