Spirit of Jane Rodney
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure of Central and South Jersey holds the Spirit of Jane Rodney Reception at Drumthwacket. Named after the woman who was instrumental in bringing the Race for the Cure to New Jersey, the reception is an evening at the Governor's Mansion, 354 Stockton St., Princeton. There will be food, entertainment and a silent auction. This year's event honors the memory of Meredith Peterson, a fund-raiser and volunteer who died in October at 36. $150.

Sam Maitin celebration
An evening of film and dance honoring artist Sam Maitin is set for the Middle Township Performing Arts Center, 212 Bayberry Rd., Cape May Court House. Access to Art, a New Jersey not-for-profit group, hosts this event with the film Sam Maitin: Celebration by Craig Rinkerman. It includes footage of Maitin with art critics, collectors, friends, family and colleagues discussing the artist and the man. There will also be a 12-minute screen dance by Susannah Newman, filmmaker, choreographer, and former associate professor of dance at the State University of New York at Brockport. Philadelphia Boys Choir
The Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale, directed by Jeffrey Smith, performs the "Around the World . . . and Back!" at St. Rose of Lima Church, 300 Kings Highway, Haddon Heights. Accompanied by an orchestra, the choir will perform songs in Greek, Tanzanian, Spanish, Latin, German and English. The choir will also present compositions by Verdi, Mozart and Lloyd Webber. The Arthritis Foundation's Arthritis Walk steps off at 10 a.m. at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken. The walk begins at North Park Drive at the relay area and there will be a 3.6-mile and a 1-mile course. May is National Arthritis Month and the foundation encourages people nationwide to participate in the walks and help join the fight against arthritis.
